Teacher Retirement Poems

So you're hanging up your gown and hat
No more nine till four and all of that
Can you cope with having no classroom strife?
What are you going to do for the rest of your life?
Hobbies perhaps is the thing to do
Now you've got time just for you
The place will not be the same
When we no longer hear your name
For someone who worked extremely hard
All our best wishes come with this card
A Very Happy Retirement

With a special gift for teaching
And with a heart that deeply cares,
You add a lot of love
To everything you share,
And even though you mean a lot,
You'll never know how much,
For you helped to change the world
Through every life you touched.

You sparked the creativity
In the students whom you taught,
And helped them strive for goals
That could not be bought,
You are such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell
However much you were valued
For the work you did so well.

This comes to you from all of us
Indeed the entire school
The staff describe you as dedicated
The kids just think you're cool
But we are all unanimous
In saying you deserve a rest
Have a long and happy retirement
We wish you all the best

Late to rise
Early to bed
Collect that pension
Long before you're dead

Enjoy a long and happy retirement

You've done nine to four for so long now
Dictated by the school bell has been a bind
Now just do as you please whenever you want
Away from the daily grind.

Have a long and wonderful retirement

There's quite an art to falling apart
As the years go by,
And life doesn't begin at 40.
That's a big fat lie.

  Your hair's getting thinner,
Your body is not:
The few teeth you have
Are beginning to rot.

Well, you get the idea, what more can I say?
Read the obituary, like you'll now do every day;
If your name's not there, you'll once again start —
Perfecting the art of falling apart

Have a long and wonderful retirement
